Jamboreeka Returns!

Community Event Returns for 4th Consecutive Year

It’s that time of the year again … time to gather with Eureka Springs visitors and locals to celebrate our country’s birthday. Starting at 5 p.m. and ending with a breathtaking fi reworks show, Jamboreeka returns to Eureka Springs on Saturday, July 4, at Lake Leatherwood City Park.

Eureka Springs Parks Director Sam Dudley said everyone is excited about the event, a free gathering with activities for all ages. Kids especially love the water activities.

“Having something for the whole family to do … it’s critical to a community,” Dudley said. “It’s an opportunity for everyone to come down and hang out in a big spot. Almost everyone you know will be there or at least be invited.”

This year, Dudley said, entrances to Lake Leatherwood will be closed at 7:30 p.m. “If you want to drive your own car, you gotta get there before 7:30,” Dudley said. “After that, you can still take the trolleys and shuttles.”

The trolleys and shuttles are free, with parking available on Planer Hill, the uptown depot and Gotahold Brewing. As in past years, participants can enjoy live music, local food and drinks, outdoor activities and the highly anticipated fi reworks show that ends the night.

“It’s a fun party, a fun way to celebrate in a really cool setting,” Dudley said. “It being our 250th anniversary, we definitely wanted to have that party.”

Dudley said he’s looking forward to seeing everyone at the event.

“It’s definitely become a staple in Eureka Springs,” Dudley said. “It’s something people love and expect. They put it on their calendar. Every year when I post about it, I see more and more people sharing about it.”

Dudley continued, “It’s an opportunity for parents to let their kids go play, and you get some of the best food and drinks in town.”
